[LW11] GPS antenna slit
Greetings,

Can I take the GPS antenna supplied with the Raymarine AIS 700 Class B transceivers and split the wires to feed both the AIS 700 and Axiom Pro?

Best Regards,

Stewart

RE: [LW11] GPS antenna slit
Dear skidston,

Thank you for your post.

You cannot split the GPS signal from the AIS700 to feed the network and the Axiom. The antenna supplied with the AIS700 is a passive antenna to be used independently with the AIS700 for your AIS transmission.

The Axiom has an internal GPS that can be used for the boat system, or is the Axiom sited where the GPS antenna cannot receive a good GPS fix?

A solution would be to use the NMEA0183 low out of the AIS700 and convert this on to the STng network.

Many Thanks
Louise
