Adding a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD(s) to a system featuring a C-Series Classic MFD

Unfortunately, C-Series Classic MFDs (C70, C80, C120) may not be interfaced to an Ethernet (SeaTalkhs/RayNet) network which also features a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs (note the difference in the case of the letters used within these model names). While it is possible to interface the a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs to a common SeaTalkng backbone featuring a SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter to which C-Series Classic MFDs have also been interfaced, communications would be limited to alphanumeric, GPS, instrument, navigational, and system status data between these systems. Correspondingly, it is not possible for C-Series Classic MFDs to share graphical data such as cartography, radar, fishfinder, or Sirius Marine Weather, etc. with an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD.

Should full functionality dual station or multi-station capability be desired, then it would be necessary to replace the C-Series Classic MFDs with a complete suite of a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs. Any combination a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFDs may be installed within an a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD network.

Raymarine offers the following mounting kit accessories (R70010 (C/E80 Classic MFDs) R70011 (C/E120 Classic MFDs) to adapt C/E-Series Classic MFD Raymarine flush mount cutouts for use with the new c/e-Series MFDs. Raymarine has not produced similar mounting kits for replacing C/E-Series Widescreen MFDs with a/eS/gS-Series MFDs. These kits include a mounting plate to be installed over the existing mounting surface and a bezel and suncover to replace those packaged with the MFDs.
