[CA11] TackTick Wind angles incorrect
I have a Tacktick wireless wind sensor, Airmar traducer for speed, e95 chart plotter and EV1 autopilot on my 35' sailboat. The Tacktick is sent to the network by the Raymarine adapter (don't remember the part number). I have been having problems all summer with the wind sensor data displayed on the network. The apparent wind angles were usually shifted about 20° off so that on one tack you would be pointing 25° apparent and on the other 45° apparent. Following a suggestion, I did a hardware reset through the dual display to start from scratch. Afterward, I tested again and wrote down the readings for Port tack (33° apparent, 76° true) and Starboard tack (33° apparent, 45 true). I tacked several times and each time got the same results and the wind and speed were fairly constant. I don't understand how the apparent vs true can be miscalculated.

RE: [CA11] TackTick Wind angles incorrect
Welcome back to the Raymarine Forum daknecht,
Based on the symptoms reported, our TackTick specialist believed that there is a fault within the masthead wind transducer and accordingly recommended that it be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced. |
