[CA] [CA11] Ray50 software update kills the device

Hello. This week I updated the software of all the equipment on my boat. Everything went very smoothly until the software update of my VHF ray50 radio. After the update, the device turns on but displays strange characters on the screen, very different than before the update. After attempting to select a channel for transmission, the device locks and displays "PLL ERROR ...". Does anybody have any suggestion? Raymaride was contacted, they say that the device must be sent to repair in USA but I live in Brazil... :-(

It would be recommended that the VHF radio be brought to or sent to:

MARINE EXPRESS COM. IMP.EXP

to permit them to attempt correction of the problem. Unfortunately, should they not be able to do so, then the VHF radio would need to be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced.

As a side question, where was the VHF radio purchased?

I will try MARINE EXPRESS on next monday but I think that they only sell equipments. Probably I will have to send it to Raymarine.

I purchased in DEFENDER.COM, thru the internet.

Hi, I am glad to announce that after I sent my device from Brazil to USA it was replaced for a brand new unit and now everithing is fine. Thank you Chuck and Raymarine.
