Antenna for Ray 70
this seems like a dumb question, i can't seem to find the answer on here. I would like to add a ray 70 to my network, can i simply use my existing antenna for this, or would it require something different. I have no experience with ais, thank you for your help

RE: Antenna for Ray 70
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Farmhand,

Please click here to view a FAQ related to this subject. Unlike an AIS transceiver which is designed to be interfaced to an antenna having a low gain antennas, the Ray70 VHF radio is not designed to function as an AIS transceiver ... with respect to AIS features, it is an AIS receiver. Accordingly, the Ray70 VHF radio may be interfaced to a standard VHF antenna, such as those used with most marine VHF radios.
