RAY 260 Speaker
I am installing a Ray260 and would like to understand what to order to have a remote mic and speaker in the cockpit of my sailboat.

I am thinking the active speaker is better mounted in the cockpit and a the passive speaker in the cabin.

Suggestions are welcome.

Would one order the remote mic and passive speaker A80196 and add the active speaker A80199 or is there a remote mic with an active speaker?

Fletch

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Fletch,

Your suggestion regarding the types speakers and where to utilize them is valid. The part number to achieve the end sought are:
- E70087 Ray260 w/passive speaker and fist mic.
- A80196 Expansion Handset w/10m cable
- A80199 Active speaker

RE: RAY 260 Speaker
Thank you for the reply, does one obtain increased volume by adding the active speaker or is the only difference the ability to control the volume level with the speaker versus the microphone?

RE: RAY 260 Speaker
Fletch,

While Raymarine has not conducted maximum volume measurements to compare these two speakers, they are believed to deliver approximately equal volume. The decision to employ an active speaker is typically based on an individual preference for a rotary volume control for the speaker.
