[DG11] AIS on Axiom 9
Hello from SE coast of Spain!!! I am a recently Axiom 9 owner. I've installed an AIS device from a third-party through NEMA183-2000 Actisense converter. How can I silence the AIS alarm of my own ship? Or friendly ship when we sail in a fleet?

Thanks!!

RE: [DG11] AIS on Axiom 9
Dear Sir,

As I understand from your enquiry, you have connected a 3rd party AIS receiver to the AXIOM display using an ACTISENSE converter to connecter the NMEA0183 to STng?

The alarm from your own vessel is being triggered from the AIS receiver and so you should contact the supplier of that device and ask how to configure it to ignore the vessel's own MMSI. The issue is amplified by the presence of coastal AIS repeater stations, but even so, the AIS should not respond to it's own transmission.

With regards to 'friendly ships', the AIS may offer the ability to accept identified targets, otherwise you will need to turn off the dangerous targets alarm.

Regards
Derek
