[CA11] Transducer choice
Hi,

My new sailing yacht has the A78 E70203 display, but not in use with transducer. The website showed a78 is compatible with cpt-s transducer, but the cpt-s manual states no compatability for the e70203. Which tranducer are compatible with my a78 type when i only consider the cilinder shaped tru hull transducers like the cpt-s?

Ps. Im ok if the shape restriction I have doesn’t provide the best possible transducer performance, as long as my hull hydrodynamics are not compromised during sailing.

Thanks,

Reinier

RE: [CA11] Transducer choice
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Reinier,

Q1. The website showed a78 is compatible with cpt-s transducer, but the cpt-s manual states no compatability for the e70203. Which tranducer are compatible with my a78 type when i only consider the cilinder shaped tru hull transducers like the cpt-s?
A1. Please note that the ax8 MFDs, eSx8 MFDs, and CP100 DownVision Sounder Module are all compatible with CPT-S transducers when the MFD and/or CP100 has been updated with the latest available Raymarine product software update. Given the low profile of these transducers and the low power consumption of the MFD's DownVision / CHIRP fishfinder sonar, the ax8 MFDs, eSx8 MFDs, Axiom DV MFDs, Axiom Pro S, CP100, and CPT-S transducers are recommended for sailboat applications.

Thank you chuck! good to know, as I don’t want additional cp100 in between and like to use it directly connected on the a78.

Hi Chuck,

Just because im doubtful a lot and dont like to return stuff after buying, i looked up the desired product number. so, to be sure, the cpt-s unit with product code E70340 can be used for the a78 e70203 if its connected directly on the display? Sorry for bothering! :). Reinier

A. Yes, the E70340 CPT-S (Bronze) 12° CHIRP Sonar Transducer may be directly mated to the transducer socket of any ax8 MFD (including your e70203 a78 MFD), eSX8 MFD, Axiom DV MFD, or Axiom Pro S MFD. In fact, any model of CPT-S transducer or DownVision transducer found here may be interfaced to the transducer socket an ax8 MFD, eSX8 MFD, or Axiom DV MFD. Likewise these same transducers may be directly interfaced to a CP100 DownVision Sounder Module to support DownVision and/or CHIRP fishfinder sonar feature in any model of a/c/e/eS/gS-Series MFD or Axiom/Axiom Pro/Axiom XL MFD.
