Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Paul,
Q. Until we get the upgrade should the failure mode happen under way would switching off the autopilot disengage the autopilot drive and put the boat back into stand bye mode? A. Please understand that occurrences of the subject problem should be rare. However, should the subject problem occur with these autopilot control heads, then de-energizing the circuit which is supplying power to the autopilot course computer will cause the autopilot will drop power to any interfaced autopilot actuator, thereby restoring control of the helm via the vessel's wheel. |
