RE: Replacement Radar
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Dave,
Q1. The new quantum unit advertises a safer transmission energy. How safe? A1. Unlike the high power output of commercial and military radar transducers, those designed for recreational marine use transmit relatively low power. Quantum radomes have simply further reduced the radar emissions. Raymarine continues to recommend that radomes and open array antennas be installed above head height. Q2. Are there any dimensions available for the quantum unit? A2. The full set of Quantum radome dimensions may be found in Section 3.7 - Dimensions of the Quantum Radar Installation Instructions. Q3. Does the quantum come in different sizes? Not sure if it is 'going to look right' on my 40' sedan bridge. A3. Raymarine only offers one size of Quantum radome. |
