Powering a Dragonfly Display off of the boat.

When connecting an Dragonfly Display to a power supply for use off of the vessel, simply connect
- the drain lead along with the black lead of the MFD's Power/Data Cable to the power supply's negative terminal;
- the red lead of the MFD's Power/Data Cable to the power supply's positive terminal.

When we need an inexpensive power supply to demo our products, we will often use a commonly available 13.8VDC 3A or larger power supply (Ex. Pyramid PS-3KX, etc.). Some customers will simply connect the MFD to a battery having a charger connected to it.

When operating Dragonfly displays off of the boat, it is recommended that the display's Simulator feature be configured ON and that the original Dragonfly 5 and Dragonfly 7 displays be interfaced to power supply using an A80312 Dragonfly 4m Power/Transducer Cable Extension. Should one own a Dragonfly 4 (DV, DVS, or Pro), Dragonfly 5 (DVS, 5M, or Pro), or Dragonfly 7 Pro, then a R70376 Dragonfly 5M Power Cable would be recommended for this purpose.
