RE: connect external gps source to SeatalkNG
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum skiersailor,
It is not possible to interface NMEA 0183 devices to a SeaTalkng bacbone in the manner which you have suggested. Should you have a device supporting NMEA 0183 v2.1 or higher communications protocol, than it would be recommended that a SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 to NMEA 0183 data bridging device (ex. Actisense NGW-1-STNG, etc.) be used. The SeaTalkng/NMEA 2000 to NMEA 0183 data bridging device would be interfaced as a spur to the SeaTalkng backbone and to the NMEA 0183 output terminals / leads of the NMEA 0183 device to be interfaced to the SeaTalkng backbone. |
