Interfacing a C-Series Classic MFD to another MFD

Communications between two or more C-Series Classic Multifunction Displays (MFDs), or any other model of MFD for that matter, is limited to alphanumeric GPS, instrument, a navigational data via their respective SeaTalk and/or NMEA 0183 interfaces. It is not possible for a C-Series MFDs to share cartography, radar imagery, fishfinder imagery, Sirius Satellite Weather, or Sirius Satellite Radio data with any MFD, including another C-Series Classic MFD. The configuration described is considered a dual-station installation. During the period in which the C-Series Classic MFDs were manufactured, dual-station installations were considered to be the domain of the E-Series Classic MFDs, C/E-Series Widescreen MFDs, and and G-Series systems. Dual and multi-station installations are currently considered to be the domain of Raymarine’s Axiom/Axiom Pro/Axiom XL MFDs. Any combination of Axiom/Axiom Pro/Axiom XL MFDs may be networked together to share all data and system resources.
