Unlike an AIS transceiver which is designed to be interfaced to an antenna having a low gain antennas, the Ray70 VHF radio is not designed to function as an AIS transceiver ... with respect to AIS features, it is an AIS receiver. Accordingly, the Ray70 VHF radio may be interfaced to a standard VHF antenna, such as those used with most marine VHF radios.
