What do the vertical lines within the Shared Brightness graphic represent?

The Shared Brightness feature within Raymarine systems is designed to permit the brightness level of the compatible MFDs, instrument displays, and autopilot control heads within the system to be controlled from any one of these devices. When the Shared Brightness has been set up within a system, the vertical bars shown within the Shared Brightness graphic (see image below) of the MFD's Shortcuts menu represent the minimum brightness and maximum brightness adjustments for the MFD on which the Shortcuts Menu is being displayed.

These vertical bars will be displayed when there is another device within the network supporting lower backlight levels and/or greater backlight levels than are supported by the MFD on which the Shared Brightness graphic is being displayed. Accordingly, it is important to note that if the user reduces the Shared Brightness setting below or increases the Shared Brightness setting above the displayed vertical lines, no additional changes to the brightness of the MFD's screen will be observed. However, if the user reduces the Shared Brightness setting below or increases the Shared Brightness setting above the displayed vertical lines, no additional changes to the brightness of the systems other devices may be observed.
