RE: [CA11] C80 Distorted Glass
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Alan,

The screen of the C-Series Classic MFDs featured and anti-reflective coating.
Raymarine only recommends use of clean mineral free water or the discontinued Marine Shield Marine Electronics Screen Cleaner and a microfiber cloth to clean the screens of the Multifunction Displays (MFDs) and Dual Function Displays (DFDs) to prevent damage to this coating. Should the MFD's anti-reflective screen coating have become damaged, it would be most apparent when the MFD is powered off and far less apparent when the MFD was operating under the full brightness setting. At one time, Raymarine's Product Repair Center had been able to replace the screens of C-Series Classic MFDs. However, Raymarine's Product Repair Centers can no longer service these MFDs. The only remaining option for those seeking to improve the appearance of the MFD's screen is to remove the anti-reflective coating. The anti-reflective coating can be removed by using NOVUS 2 Fine Scratch Remover and then polished with NOVUS 1 Plastic Cleaner.

Removal of the display's anti-reflective coating may impair its view-ability under bright sunlight and off-angle viewing conditions.
