Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Brian,

Unlike later models of modular VHF radios, no software updates were produced for the handsets of the Ray240. The software update for the Ray240 required that the Ray240 base station be sent to Raymarineâ€™s Product Repair Center. Simply unplug the cables from the base station to then permit it to be removed and shipped.
