[LW11] RD218/418 plug
Dear Sir/Madam,

My budget is tight so I recently bought an RD218 with cable from ebay as many folks are upgrading and I like the idea of recycling products.

Sadly there is no socket on the end of the cable to plug into the E80 MFD.
Either the 90degree or the straight plug will suit my purpose.

I don't really want to have to replace the cable with new and wonder if there is anywhere that sells the Socket/plug. I have looked on ebay - asked Raymarine dealers in the UK and looked at other sites that may have such an item but no luck.

Unfortunately importing from the USA incurs a rather large import tax even for second hand items otherwise I would have approached folks state-side.

Please are the sockets/plugs that fit into the Raymarine RD218/418 :
1. proprietary to Raymarine?
2. have a part number? if so what is it? (I have looked through manuals but have not found a socket part number)
3. can the socket/plug be bought on their own?
4. would it be okay for a DIYer to solder the correct cable to the sockets?

If sockets are available please can you point me in the right direction preferably within the UK.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.
