I believe I may be experiencing the symptoms described here: http://forum.raymarine.com/showthread.php?tid=3007

Is the status in that thread still current, or has the EV1 update 2.18 addressed the issue?

Thanks for the reminder. The referenced FAQ has been updated accordingly to specify:
This issue may be corrected by upgrading the Evolution autopilot components with the latest available Evolution autopilot software update (at the time of this response: EV software was v2.18; ACU software was v2.23; p70/p70S & p70R/p70RS software was v3.07).
