Activating route past first waypoint
Activating a route for the autopilot when past the route's first waypoint, makes the autopilot want to turn the boat around to go back to the first waypoint. This can cause dangerous situations.
The only way around that, that I have ben able to figue out, it to manually target each waypoint, one by one, but that limits the usability of the autopilot. Hence, please let me know if there is a way that the autopilot can be set to pick up the route from the next waypoint ahead, whether it is #2 or #55? |

RE: Activating route past first waypoint
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Viben,
When seeking to join a route at a waypoint other than one of its two endpoints, it is necessary to first command the MFD to stop following the route. After doing so, then the cursor may be positioned over the waypoint to be navigated to and the Follow From Here function key may then be selected. After doing so and turning the vessel in the direction of the waypoint to be navigated to, then the autopilot may be commanded into TRACK mode. |
