[CA11] P70s & P70RS Standbye Software fault
We have just been informed of the software fault with the P70's,
It has come to our attention that there is a small possibility that the lower keys on the Autopilot control unit could become inoperative and may interfere with the selection of STANDBY mode, preventing the Autopilot from becoming disengaged. To prevent this unlikely situation, Raymarine has taken preventative action, • There is new software available (version 3.08) to monitor the operation of the keypad and will reset the Autopilot to STANDBY mode if any false operation or intermittent operation occurs We recommend that you update the software in all p70s and p70Rs control units to the latest current version, 3.08 Until we get the upgrade should the failure mode happen under way would switching off the autopilot disengage the autopilot drive and put the boat back into stand bye mode? Thanks Paul |

RE: [CA11] P70s & P70RS Standbye Software fault
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Paul,
Q. Until we get the upgrade should the failure mode happen under way would switching off the autopilot disengage the autopilot drive and put the boat back into stand bye mode? A. Please understand that occurrences of the subject problem should be rare. However, should the subject problem occur with these autopilot control heads, then de-energizing the circuit which is supplying power to the autopilot course computer will cause the autopilot will drop power to any interfaced autopilot actuator, thereby restoring control of the helm via the vessel's wheel. |

I rarely use the buttons on the P70 control head as I have a remote. Any issues with remotes and/or touch screen controls?
Does Raymarine plan to initiate any recall plans to replace the rubber buttons? 1988 Camargue Yacht Fisher Tom and Kay |

RE: [CA11] P70s & P70RS Standbye Software fault
Alaskan Sea-Duction,
Q1. I rarely use the buttons on the P70 control head as I have a remote. Any issues with remotes and/or touch screen controls? A1. Negative. Additionally, Raymarine has only identified that the p70S and p70RS autopilot control heads are affected. That said, p70 and p70R auopilot control heads may also be updated with this software. Q2. Does Raymarine plan to initiate any recall plans to replace the rubber buttons? A2. Negative. |
