[TG11] Axiom 9 Compatible with DSM300 over SeaTalk hs?
Can an Axiom 9 interface with a Seatalk HS E55058 switch to read depth from a networked DSM300 with an Airmar transducer? If so, what connector/adapter is required?

RE: [TG11] Axiom 9 Compatible with DSM300 over SeaTalk hs?
Hello Mcaprio,
The Axiom displays are compatible with STHS data and the STHS switch (via these adaptor cables), but the Axiom is not, I'm afraid, compatible with the DSM. The issue is the DSM's software, which is too old to support the updated sonar network protocol which the Axiom uses to handle more recent sonar technologies such as the Chirp CP470 and CP570 and RealVision3D. On the other hand, you can connect the DSM's transducer to the Axiom directly, bypassing the DSM, via adaptor cable A80489. The Axiom's output is 600W, and has much more advanced signal processing than the DSM. ALternatively you can replace the DSM with a [ur=https://www.raymarine.eu/fishfinders/cp370-digital-sonar/index.html]CP370[/url]. Regards, Tom Regards, Tom Raymarine since 1999. Interests: Diagnosis of problems in sonar/fishfinders, NMEA2000, ethernet comms, autopilots, thermal cameras Location: Sydney, Australia. Please don't PM me asking for direct support, please ask a public question instead so that others can see the question and answer. Forum posts will always be answered before PM requests. |
