Power to Radar
I can not get my radar to power on and think I may have a short of some sort. I have a brand new radar cable with cat5 and the three power wires (red, black, green). When I measure the resistance between the red and green I get close to 0 Ohms. When I measure the resistance between the red and black I get infinite Ohms. My assumption is that this is incorrect but please confirm and let me know if there may be some other issue.

RE: Power to Radar
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum redog4118,
If the Digital Radar Cable has been disconnected from the pedestal or radome and a resistance check between the red and green leads or red and black leads is not indicative of an open circuit, then it would indicate that there is a short within the Digital Radar Cable. If the cable has been purchased within the last 30 days, then it should returned to the Dealer for replacement. If purchased more than 30 days ago, then it should be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center for replacement. |
