[CA11] Radar gain control
I have a 4k Radome and C125 MFD. when I boost the gain, the inner part of my screen does not clutter out. In this image, the rings are set at 1nm. 3 miles out there is no gain noise. As in the photo attached Is this typical? It happens no matter the Ring setting. Happens no matter the radar mode, Bird mode, Harbor, Coastal etc etc.

RE: [CA11] Radar gain control
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Matt,

Indeed the design of the filtering within the radar processing is to reduce the clutter within the closer range ... as you can see quite clearly in your photos. No changes to any of the radar sensitivity settings (gain, rain, sea clutter, color gain) or modes (Harbor, Coastal, Offshore, Weather, Bird) would be expected to cause speckling of the inner portion of the radar plot in the manner seen with the outer portion of the plot.
