Inability To Connect Devices To Sonar
This issue relates to the inability to connect devices to sonar. When attempting to use SonarChart live on e125 and a98 MFD’s with Navionics “USA” application installed on both tablet and smart phone devices, a “Sonar Not Connected” message is received. In all instances, communications between MFD’s and devices was confirmed by use of RayControl and RayRemote. In addition, correct operation of sonar was confirmed. As no “connect to sonar” setting is known to exist in either the MFD or Navionics “USA” application, how is the Navionics “USA” application connected to the sonar?

RE: Inability To Connect Devices To Sonar
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum chartertom,

Please note that the app which you have referenced is produced and supported by Navionics. Should the message appear within the Navionics app then it would be recommended that Navionics (508-291-6000) be contacted accordingly should the following have been verified:
- the MFDs have been interfaced to one another via an Ethernet network.
- the a98 MFD has been switched ON and has completed boot-up
- the a98 MFD's Wi-Fi has been configured ON
- The Sonar Logging setting has been enabled within the a98 MFD
- SonarCharts Live setting has been enabled within the a98 MFD
- Wi-Fi connection setting of the mobile device on which the Navionics app is being executed has been configured to connect to the a98 MFD prior to running the Navionics app

Should the reported message be reported by the MFD's user interface rather than that of the Navionics app, then please respond accordingly.
