Autopilot selection recomendation
The boat is a 2670 Pursuit Denali with twin F200 Yamaha outboards (2005's). It has a seastar mod HC5358 hyd. cyl.
a ES128, RD418HD radar, SR150, a DSM300, A80007 and VHF interfaced to MFD. Which autopilot would you recommend?

RE: Autopilot selection recomendation
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum rltrbill,

Please click here to view a FAQ addressing which Evolution autopilot is correct for a powerboat w/hydraulic steering. As the SeaStar HC5358 has a cubic capacity of 8.34 cu. in., a Type 1 Hydraulic Pump and ACU-200 would be required a p70RS Autopilot Control Head would typically be recommended for powerboat applications. These items are combined within the T70157 EV-200 Hydraulic autopilot pack.

rltrbill,

Raymarine has not yet formally introduced the EV-150, although it would support this application. Please click here to view a prior thread in which I had addressed this subject.

I am not in a rush to get it... So if I am reading correctly, once the EV150 is formally introduced, your recommendation will be for that unit over the EV200 but either on will fit and work correctly for the application. Is that correct?

rltrbill,

Q. Once the EV150 is formally introduced, your recommendation will be for that unit over the EV200 but either on will fit and work correctly for the application?
A. As long as the vessel features a 12v system rather than a 24v system, the EV150 should perform equally as well and would present a cost savings over the EV-200 Hydraulic autopilot pack.

RE: Autopilot selection recomendation
I currently have SX5 wheel pilot installed and am going to upgrade to hydraulic ram steering. You told me that the course computer will need to be replaced. Will an EV150 linesr hydraulic package interface properly with my c90 MFD or would I need a new display with lighthouse software to work

mauruuru,

A. The C-Series Widescreen MFDs are indeed compatible with Evolution autopilots. As such, there should be no need to replace your MFD.
