[CA11] ST7000 Not Functioning
I have an ST7000 in the pilothouse and an ST6000 on the bridge. The 7000 doesn't work unless the ST6000 is on "auto" and then only works in that mode. There is no steering from the pilothouse on standby, but works on the bridge. The wheel doesn't engage in the pilothouse. Our 4 year old granddaughter was turning the wheel in the pilothouse while on auto, then it quit functioning. What happened? Thanks!

RE: [CA11] ST7000 Not Functioning
Hi. Found a similar problem to mine in od thread... My ST7000 control units appears to work, LCD functions, shows rudder angle moving etc., but keys do not beep when pressed and no function from buttons at all. Any ideas?

Scott

RE: [CA11] ST7000 Not Functioning
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Scott,

Unfortunately, the symptoms which you have described are indicative of a failure of the autopilot's control head. Depending upon the model of autopilot course computer which is presently installed onboard, it may be possible to replace the ST7000 autopilot control head with a p70S or p70R autopilot control head. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject.

RE: [CA11] ST7000 Not Functioning
Thanks, but my course computer is a 300, so I'm S.O.L.

From what I read, a 6000/6001 or 7000/7001 will work?

Scott

RE: [CA11] ST7000 Not Functioning
Scott,

Q. From what I read, a 6000/6001 or 7000/7001 will work with a type 300 autopilot course computer?
A. The ST6xxx Autopilot Control Heads as well as the ST7xxx Autopilots Control Heads are each compatible with the Type 100/300 Autopilot Course Computers.
