HD Color 48" array E52081
Hi Chuck. I'm having a problem with this unit. Serial number 0980024. We were out cruising on the lake Friday and it stopped at about a quarter turn rotation. Turned power off and back on turn displays on and off etc cannot get it to turn on. Displays won't connect with it either. I'm getting 13.8 V on the two female pins on the cable. Not sure where to go from here. Hoping you can help.

RE: HD Color 48" array E52081
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum schlaag,

The 4kW HD and SuperHD Radar Pedestals are designed to be powered from a VCM100 which in turn will draw power from a 12V or 24VDC power circuit. The VCM100 is designed to output 12VDC to the Digital Radar Cable's power leads when the radar is in sleep mode. The VCM100 is designed to output 42VDC to the Digital Radar Cable's power leads when the radar is commanded ON. Failures of VCM100s are extremely uncommon. Should 13.8VDC have been measured at the pedestal end of the Digital Radar Cable, then the cable's power leads have either been erroneously connected to a 12VDC power circuit or the pedestal's circuitry is not exiting sleep mode. Should the pedestal not be exiting sleep mode, then this condition may often be corrected by switching the circuity supplying power to the VCM100 OFF and then ON again. Should this not then permit the radar pedestal to exit sleep mode, then the symptoms would indicate a fault within the radar pedestals circuitry, necessitating that the radar pedestal's core be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced.
