[CA] E125 Hybrid Touch MFD causing interference on VHF radio
My master E125 MFD (one of two; new in 2014) appears to cause interference on VHF radios (both the main unit aboard our boat and hand-held units). The interference pattern appears to be every 20 seconds or so and lasts a few seconds.

Anyone have any thoughts on what might be causing this, specifically, or if additional information is required from me to provide a better diagnostic picture?

-David

RE: [CA] E125 Hybrid Touch MFD causing interference on VHF radio
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum David,

It is recommended that Raymarine electronics not be installed within 3' of VHF radios. Should the VHF radio be installed 3' or more away from the marine electronics and should the reported symptom persist, then it would be recommended that RF suppression ferrites be applied to the plug end of the power cable of the product emitting RF energy to correct the reported problem. This solution may often address such symptoms when the VHF radio has been installed closer than the recommended minimum distance specified above. Should a Raymarine product be installed more than 3' away from a Raymarine product found to produce problematic RF energy, then it would be recommended that the Raymarine product be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced.
