Axiom 9RV or 7DV to Airmar B744v
Is there an adaptor cable that will mate my existing Airmar B744v to either of my Axiom 9 RV or my Axiom 7DV MFD. The transducer was directly mated to a lowrance LMS5. The info for my transducer has 2 part numbers first being Lowrance #021-0073-00 and Airmar # 31-666-1-01. I was told by phone support that adapter A80488 was needed and was purchased. While being 7 pin to 25 pin it is not compatable. Second call was told the the same thing. The transducer connector has a number of Airmar 05-185-01. I purchased a RV100 not thinking of the performance issues with the boat being an inboard and nowhere to mount. I will be purchasing a pair of RV thru hulls when i can get the boat pulled. I am not concerned with the speed or temperature of the B744v at this time but i really need the depth for the time being. If needed i would waste the A80488 and try a splice if i could get a pin out drawing. I have the pin out for the 05-185-01 connector. Any help would be greatly be appreciated.

RE: Axiom 9RV or 7DV to Airmar B744v
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum rich59,

Please excuse the delay in this response. Please click here to view the FAQ addressing adapting transducers which are designed for third party fishfinders for use with Raymarine fishfinding products and splicing fishfinder transducer cables. While Airmar, Inc. offered Mix and Match 600W Fishfinder Transducers, you may want contact Gemeco, Inc. (Airmar’s US distributor (803 693 0777)) to determine whether the variant of the B744V transducer owned is the Mix and Match version of the B744V transducer, and if so, whether they have had any success in adapting it to be used with an Axiom RV MFD (ask for specifics). If not, then it would be recommended that the currently installed B744V transducer be replaced with the A66091 version of the B744V transducer (CP370 compatible). While only 50kHz/200kHz transducers designed to be directly mated to a CP370/CP300/DSM30/DSM300 may be adapted to be mated to the 1kW transducer socket of an Axiom Pro RVX MFD, transducers which were also designed to be mated to an ax7/cx7/e7D/eSx7 MFD may also be adapted to be mated to an Axiom MFD. Please click here to view a FAQ addressing this subject.
