[CA11] GPS from Horizon GX2200B to C120
Hi,
This has probably been addressed before. I have a used C120 Legacy chartplotter I acquired with just a power cable. It is powered up. I purchased and installed a Horizon GX2200B AIS receiver so I could get GPS to the C120. IS there a specific cable I can buy that plugs into the NMEA port on the C120 to wire into the NMEA IN/OUT wires from the radio. If so, would I hook NEMA out on the C120 to OUT from the radio or IN ?
Thank you,

RE: [CA11] GPS from Horizon GX2200B to C120
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum kustomtool,

The C-Series Classic MFDs were designed to receive GPS data via either the MFD's SeaTalk communications interface or via its NMEA 0183 communications interface. A R08004 MFD 5-Way NMEA 0183 Cable was included with the package of each C/E-Series Classic MFD. This cable would be required to interface the MFD to a NMEA 0183 talker and/or listener such as Horizon GX2200B. As the VHF radio is also an AIS receiver, if seeking to receive data from the VHF radio, then the NMEA 0183 input leads (yellow & brown) of the aforementioned cable would be interfaced to the 38400 BAUD NMEA 0183 output leads of the Horizon GX2200B. The only reason that one would typically interface the NMEA 0183 output of the MFD to the NMEA 0183 input of VHF radio would be to supply the VHF radio with GPS data from the Raymarine system. As the VHF radio is also an AIS receiver, if seeking to transmit data from MFD to the VHF radio, then the NMEA 0183 output leads (white & green) of the aforementioned cable would be interfaced to the 38400 BAUD NMEA 0183 input leads of the Horizon GX2200B. The MFD's NMEA 0183 Port would additionally need to be configured to "AIS 38400".

Thank you but I received the C120 without any cords. I purchased a power cord online but a search for an R08004 has been less that fruitful. IS it still available from Raymarine ?
