[DG] [DG11] Cannot change ST60/ST60+ units to metres

[DG11] Cannot change ST60/ST60+ units to metres
I have an A70D (classic) display connected to an ST60 Multi and ST60+ Graphic via an E22158 converter.

The A70D is set to show depth in metres, but I am unable to change the units on either of the displays to metres. They are both stuck on Feet.

If I turn off the power on the A70D then the units can be changed, but as soon as the chartplotter is turned back on, they revert back.

Is this issue being caused by the chartplotter or the converter? Both are on the latest software. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks in advance

Hi garethreynolds

Thank you for your enquiry,

The issue is that the ST60 displays were designed at a time long before the STng interface to SeaTalk was developed and so the global application of units will not operate. The ST60 displays default to Feet as soon as the E22158 is activated. the ST60 Displays do not recognise the Units flag transmitted from the converter.

Thanks
Derek

Thanks

Is this something that could be fixed in a future update?

I do have the option of the E85001 and/or using NMEA inputs but the E22158 seems to be the only way to get the Tiller Pilot talking to everything in both directions.

For now I will retrain myself to think in feet!

RE: [DG11] Cannot change ST60/ST60+ units to metres
Hi Gareth,

The ST60 will not be updated, so the only solution we can suggest is to replace the ST60 displays with the appropriate i50 displays. These displays will connect to the A70D via the STng network and no need for the E22158 converter either.

regards
Derek
