[DG11] Axiom and experience with Android apps
Hi there,

I'm very interested in buying an Axiom or Axiom Pro with a Quantum 2 Doppler (Q24D) radar for my 40" motor boat.

One last thing I'm interested in learning more about is the app functionality with an Android device. I saw there are several apps and all with quite mixed user feedback from what I can see... :/

What's the general experience here? Can an Android tablet be used to mirror or extend what's on the MFD screen? So e.g. would it be possible to run the radar on the MFD and the chart on my tablet, or vica versa?

Tablet would be a Samsung Android device (not sure which one exactly as we have 2-3) and my phone is a Samsung Galaxy S8.

Any feedback and concrete answers to my above questions would be highly appreciated.

Best

RE: [DG11] Axiom and experience with Android apps
Hi jms28,

Thank you for your enquiry.

The only issues we are aware of with the apps and Android tablets is related to screen sizing, RayControl will only operate on screen sizes 7" and above, the screen sizes lower than this are too small to be able to operate satisfactorily.

We find that many customers like the portability of the app and the flexibility this gives onboard to have information readily available to you.

We are also aware that some tablets will not operate reliably with the apps, the website gives a current list that we know operate fully.

The app only allows for mirroring of the screen, so the tablet and the AXIOM will both show the same information.

Regards
Derek
