[DG11] RAYTHEON SL 70 Pathfinder
Hi, I am new to the forum. I am writing form Italy.
I am working to check the electronics in my boat (Menorquin 150) and I found a problem with my radar. I never used radars before so I ma brand new to the world.
The problem I have is the display does not show a 360° scan but it shows something less...let's say 340°.
Maybe someone messed up with the menu but I am not able to see a full 360° scan. Any help from you?

Hi Vince 59,
Thank you for your enquiry,

The attached photograph shows the radar is defective, the fault is likely in the radar antenna. Given the age of the unit, the antenna is unlikely to be able to be repaired, but our best advice is to get the unit to a local raymarine Service agent.

Regards

Derek

RE: [DG11] RAYTHEON SL 70 Pathfinder
...a question...being an hobbyist with some good electronics skills...do you suggest to open the antenna and have a look inside?
Is there any kind of workshop/service manual for basic checks?

RE: [DG11] RAYTHEON SL 70 Pathfinder
Hi Vince59

Unless you are familiar with the workings of a radar, no, we would not recommend opening and working on the PCBs inside, there are some high voltages there and should not be tampered with.

I am afraid the service manuals are proprietary and our company policy is that we are unable to copy them to non Raymarine approved service dealers.

Regards
Derek
