[CA11] Interfacing Ray 73 VHF AIS & eS127 MFD
I have interfaced my new Ray 73 VHF AIS to an existing eS127 MFD via a Seatalkng cable to a white port on a SeaTalk to SeaTalkng converter. The VHF's AIS shows up on the MFD's Set up - Maintenance - Diagnostics - Select Device listing (V70517, 1080481, STng, CAN Address: 75). On the VHF the AIS is set to On and Network output to NMEA 2000. On the MFD NMEA Setup screen Bridge NMEA Hdg is Off, NMEA Input Port 1 is set to NMEA 4800 (to accommodate other devices on the network receiving NMEA0183 data from the MFD), and NMEA Input Port 2 is set to AIS 38400. The VHF/AIS does not appear on the External Devices list and the interfaces bar at the bottom of the screen shows "No AIS". Next steps please.

RE: [CA11] Interfacing Ray 73 VHF AIS & eS127 MFD
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Afunnell,

Please note that when interfaced via SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 communications, no settings changes need be made to the MFD's NMEA 0183 settings.

Has the backbone been connected to a switched 12VDC power circuit?
If so, are any devices listed within the eS127 MFD's devices list?
What version of software is installed within the MFD?
