[CA11] AIS 700 Power problem
Hi - AIS has been working perfectly for many months. On a recent trip it stopped functioning completely - I checked power and its at 28v incoming, checked power cable and I see the same voltage.

Plug USB in and use latest ProAIS2 SW/drivers are installed and I see low power warning in diagnostics - its showing around 8v which I assume is coming from the USB connection.

With USB connected seems to function at least in receive mode just fine, but not transmitting.

What else am I able to check or do you think the unit is faulty?

RE: [CA11] AIS 700 Power problem
Welcome to the Raymrine Forum Nick,

With the AIS700 connected to the PC alone, examine the Diagnostics tab and respond with the value reported for its AIS software version. Then, with the AIS700 disconnected from the PC and with it being powered via its power / NMEA 0183 / Silent Mode Cable (and all other cables connected), what is the color of its status LED after it has been on for five minutes?

Hya Chuck - its the latest, v1.06 - there is no light when plugged into its own power supply via 183 power cable. I verified 28V on input and exit from cable.

RE: [CA11] AIS 700 Power problem
nickvh,

Given the symptoms reported it would appear that the AIS700 has suffered a failure of its internal circuitry necessitating that it be sent to Raymarine’s Product Repair Center to be bench checked / serviced.
