There are many instances throughout business history where someone took a profitable business from someone else and had no idea what they were doing. Most people probably will struggle or fail. These instances can be someone with alot of money somehow wants to buy a business they really don’t understand or more commonly, someone who inherits the business from a deceased family member. For example a father passes away, the wife, daughter or the son (or some other next of kin) are suddenly thrust into the fire of running a business they are clueless about. I heard of this MORE than one time.
I love steel work, and I think its fascinating that it accessible by normal people yet so powerful. I have a mig welder and some saws for cutting steel. Assuming you are inheriting a business you may want to hire or promote someone to run the business while you learn. Hopefully it grows on you.
I hope someone passing on is not why you are asking. Goodluck.
PS Also I have heard people starting a welding business who knew almost nothing about welding. Welding repair is something in demand. You may have to fake it until you make it.
Again, goodluck. |
