[CA11] RS 150 to e120 issue
Had to replace rs 125 with rs 150 using seatalk - seatalkng converter.
System includes e120, smart pilot s2/s3 series, st60's and st6002. e120 shows correct fix, however on gps status menu no sats are shown and time is shown incorrect. even when changing time offset in time/date menu, time will not change. Also in sea talk device list shows rs125 not rs150. restart gps on gps status page, have to do twice and then time is correct. After turning off the system and turning it back on later same thing happens. No hs switch, and no hs, or seatalk 2. Only using seatalk and 0183 port. voltage is good. seatalk power is not supplied by smart pilot. rs125 originally wired in seatalk bus configuration as outlined in rs125 installation guide for sea talk buss. e120 as current 5.69 software. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum CBK,
It appears that you have incorrectly interfaced the Raystar 150 GPS Sensor to the MFD. The MFD should be disconnected from the SeaTalk bus. The MFD and Raystar 150 GPS Sensor should each be interfaced as spurs to a powered and properly terminated SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone which includes a SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter (which has been updated with the latest ST-STng Converter software). The unpowered SeaTalk bus would then be interfaced to the SeaTalk socket of the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter. The SeaTalk bus will be powered by the SeaTalkng backbone via the SeaTalk socket of the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter. |

There is a total of 3 st60 and 1 st6002 and a smart pilot. which means there will have be 2 converters? correct?, 1 for 2 of st60 and 1 for st60,st6002 and smart pilot.? As I understand that only 3 on a sea talk bus for converter. The layout I was considering is E120 with seatalk2 to seatalk ng cable to a backbone tee with a terminator and then to the (blue) converter, rs150 to 1st white on converter, yellow to seatalk (2 st60) , 2nd white power insertion, blue backbone to 2nd converter with whites having blanking plug yellow to st60, st6002, smart pilot. and blue with terminator and with seatalk 1 power disconnected. does that sound about right? thank you for your time |

Per the FAQ found here, each SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter can support a SeaTalk bus featuring up to five devices. While it is certainly possible to do as you have suggested, only one SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter should be required for your system. |
