[CA11] frequency tuning on b60 50/200 kz transducer
I have searched but cannot find a detailed explanation of how the frequency tune feature works, I have a b60 transducer interfaced to a axiom 9 rv. Im trying to figure out what frequency i am actually operating at when i increase or decrease the frequency. So ...
1) if i increase the frequency by the full 50 percent , will my 50kz be operating at 75? or does it not work this way. 2) does adjusting one frequency affect the other? ie. will both 50 and 200 kz be affected if i adjust the frequency on the 200kz menu page. Thanks Wade |

RE: [CA11] frequency tuning on b60 50/200 kz transducer
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Wade,
Q1. if i increase the frequency by the full 50 percent , will my 50kz be operating at 75? or does it not work this way. A1. Yes. Within the Fishfinder application's settings, select the Sounder tab, followed by the Tune Frequency configuration setting. Similarly when viewing the 200kHz channel, adjustments to this setting will permit +/-50% adjustments to the frequency transmitted by the transducer. In the case of the the 200kHz frequency, this would effectively mean that this frequency could be adjusted from 300kHz (+50%) to 100kHz (-50%). Q2. does adjusting one frequency affect the other? ie. will both 50 and 200 kz be affected if i adjust the frequency on the 200kz menu page. A2. Negative. The frequencies are independent of one another. |

Ok thank you very much for the explanation, last question, when I adjusted the frequency this week, even if i changed it the whole 50 percent, I didn't see a difference in the a scope cone as far as the coverage depth display. is this normal?

RE: [CA11] frequency tuning on b60 50/200 kz transducer
Wade,
Frequency adjustments are most commonly made to increase sonar sensitivity to specific biological species within the water column (i.e. some species are more reflective of sonar energy at some frequencies than others). Accordingly, this feature would be adjusted base upon experience for the type of organisms being sought. To a lesser degree, this feature is used to increase/decrease the diameter of the transducer's cone angle. In the case of the latter, the increases would be greater when adjusting the 200kHz frequency than when increasing the 50kHz frequency. |

Thank you for the reply, I was more curious than anything. I was attempting to adjust the frequency a little to eliminate some cross talk interference.
