[CA11] Axiom Pro 12 RVW won't recognise 1KW chirp transducer
Over the winter I bought an Axiom Pr0 12 RVX to replace an Axiom 9 RVX. The Axiom 9 had a Realvision 3D transducer pair, RV-312, which worked fine but I wanted to read greater depths, hence the Axiom Pro 12 RVX because it has the additional 1KW Chirp transducer input. I instaled an Airmar B175C12L11R transducer. The boat just went into the water and the Axiom Pro 12 RVX won't recognize the new 1KW chirp transducer. The menu page only lists the RV 3D transducer. The Airmar transducer has a short adapter cable, a C-11R-LDB PN 33-1357-01 Rev 2 to convert to the Raymarine 11 pin cable format. All 4 of the Realvision 3D transducers formats (3D, downvision, sidevision, and Sonar) appear to be working fine. The Axiom Pro 12 RVX was powered up before the boat went into the water but pings were disabled. The software version of the Axiom Pro is version 3.11.42. HELP!

Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Donald,
I have been unable to identify the transducer which you have specified. It is possible that you have may have a single element CHIRP transducer, necessitating the use of an A80328 Single Operation Cable. Please attach a photograph of the transducer's identification tag which clearly show all information printed upon the tag. |

RE: Axiom Pro 12 RVW won't recognise 1KW chirp transducer
I wasn't able to photograph the ID Tag but I was able to read it with a borescope. The ID Tag says: Tilted Element B175L-12 40-60 kHz - A
PN: 41-562-2-01 Rev. 01 Customer Part #: B175C-12-L-MM Also, imprinted on the top of the transducer it says: AIRMAR B175L 40 - 60 kHz I hope this helps because the transducer is ia a location where I can't easily photograph the ID Tag |

RE: [CA11] Axiom Pro 12 RVW won't recognise 1KW chirp transducer
Donald,
According to Airmar's Cross Reference, this is a B175L 12 degree tilted element transducer. As it is only designed for use with a single CHIRP frequency range, it would have to be used with the aforementioned Single Operation Cable. Airmar's Cross Reference also indicates that this was produced for Humminbird products. Before proceeding, it would be recommended that Gemeco, Inc. (Airmar’s US distributor (803 693 0777)) that it may indeed be used with Raymarine high power CHIRP sonar products. |

Thanks Chuck, I will try the single use adapter cable A80328 and see what happens. I will let you know when it comes in as to if it works.

RE: [CA11] Axiom Pro 12 RVW won't recognise 1KW chirp transducer
Dave, the A80328 adapter cable did the trick. I was only able to test it at the dock, but I now get 2 additional icons on the fishfinder menu, "low chirp" and "50kHz", in addition to the 4 icons for the RV transducer. I was only reading 7.1 ft, but the RV transducers were reading 6.9 ft and they are mounted on the hull about 2-3" lower than the Chirp transducer. I would say the problem is solved. Thank you very much!
