[CA11] Axiom Pro Screen Resolution
Recently purchased a Raymarine Axiom12 Pro RVX and an Axiom 9 Pro S.The displays are networked and professionally installed. The 12" has a production date of 2017 and the 9" a 2019 date. The 12' Display is of poor clarity, less vibrant colors. We have adjusted options and done a factory hard set.Same difference. The MFD's were purchased about a week apart from a dealer we have dealt with in the past.
Is the difference based on manufactured dates or simply a less than optimal 12" screen?

RE: [CA11] Axiom Pro Screen Resolution
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Clay,

It should be noted that the film applied to the screens during manufacturing to protect the screens during installation has not and should be removed from the MFDs. It would generally be expected that within installations where more than one MFD will be installed at a station, that all MFDs would be of the same screen size. Within such installations, it would further be expected that MFDs of the same screen size would render imaging which would appear to be identical within a side by side comparison. That said, the Axiom Pro 12 and Axiom Pro 9 have the same top level brightness specification of 1200 nits. However, at a lower level, they have different NTSC values. NTSC/Gamut is a measure of the depth of color and is the characteristic for the "washed out" and "vivid" comparisons which you have provided. The Axiom Pro 12 MFDs have a NTSC value of forty percent, while the Axiom Pro 9 MFDs have a NTSC value of 70 percent, accounting for the differences in appearance which you have commented on.
