All,
Thanks for providing the requested photos. These photos have been submitted to Raymarine's Commodity & Supplier Quality Mgr, Supply Chain who has examined the photos and has agreed that the cables would agree that they appear to have been coiled on a 4 points auto coiling equipment resulting in relatively tight bend radius at the corners. He indicated that customers should not be overly concerned with using cables in this condition, as they are tested to much more extreme conditions than shown within the photos. Again, the specification of minimum bend diameter is primarily intended to avoid the tendency to bundle excess communications cable as shown within the photo below rather than to loosely coil excess cable and then secure the coiled cable to a bulkhead. Raymarine's Commodity & Supplier Quality Mgr, Supply Chain indicated that he will move to ensure we do not receive any more cables this condition going forward and accordingly would feed this back to the supplier to address immediately. |
