RE: [DG11] Autopilot Controllers suitable for ST2000+ tiller pilot
Hi Derek,
Thanks for the reply.
My ST2000+ is not connected to a seatalk bus or any other instruments. I use NMEA to get data to it via an A70D MFD (see the latest post in “CA11] ST60+, seatalk1, seatalk NG, ray55e, A70D and ST2000+” for details).

I use a third party fluxgate compass as the heading source for the system, so in effect the tillerpilot is isolated from the seatalk bus to prevent doubling up on the heading data sources. However, the tillerpilot still gets wind and nav data via NMEA from the MFD.

Q1. Is it fair to assume that I can cut the wire on the S100 (or other seatalk controller cable) and connect it directly to the seatalk pins on the ST2000+?

Q2. With this arrangement, will the track and wind modes be fully functional using the S100 (or other pilot controller)?

Q3. Will the controllers that you mention provide pilot status, warning and alarm functions?

Cheers
Dave
