HI Dave,

SeaTalk is very simple and so cutting the plugs off the end of the SeaTalk cable and joining the wires is not a problem.

With the controller connected direct to the ST2000+ you can obtain control of the autopilot, note that the track and wind modes will require the fixed style control units to function. They will also provide, pilot status, alarms and warnings messages.
