[CA11] looking for sonar setup help
We have an a68 which came with the CPT100 transducer. We intend to use it with a through hull type transducer (CPT120). Our intended purpose is the ability to see shallow water obstacles like rocks that might impact the keel of the boat. The dark waters of the coves in the Northwest Passage keep the rocks hidden until its too late, so we bought the sonar package in hopes of avoiding damage. That said, are there any helpful tips on mounting the transducer so that we get a more forward looking view of the bottom features and or better shallow water performance? We thought about just keeping the CPT100, mounting it to a broomstick and holding it over the bow when things get shallow. Any thoughts?
