Hello, I have the Raymarine E120 and just installed the Autopilot EV-100, I try to install the S100 Wireless SeaTalk Autopilot Remote Control.
I can't figure how to connect the base station with the original cables comes with?? Also the instruction says the base need to be about 3 ft away from radio or electrical cables... Please HELP! Thank you. |

RE: [CA11] Installing Remote control
Welcome to the Raymarine Forum Erez,
The powered and properly terminated SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone which has been installed to interface the Evolution autopilot components to one another will need to either be - extended to include an E22158 SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter or - modified to replace one of the backbone's T-Pieces or 5-Way Connectors with a SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter. The press-fit 3-pin plug of the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter Cable supplied with the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter Kit will be cut off to permit its leads to be mated to the color coded terminals of the base station. Alternatively, SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter Cable supplied with the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter Kit will be connected to a D244 SeaTalk Junction Block. In the case of the latter, a SeaTalk to Bare Leads Cable or a SeaTalk Cable having had one of its press-fit 3-pin plugs cut off will be used to connect the D244 SeaTalk Junction Block to the base station. |

RE: [CA11] Installing Remote control
Hello again,
Just in the middle of the installation of the S100 remote wiring, Question: is the S 100 remote 5 way connector need to be connected to the auto pilot 5 way connector with the Blue wire (Backbone?) in order to operate? Thank you Erez |

RE: [CA11] Installing Remote control
Erez,
Q. is the S 100 remote 5 way connector need to be connected to the auto pilot 5 way connector with the Blue wire (Backbone?) in order to operate? A. The blue backbone socket of the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter will be interfaced to the blue backbone socket of the SeaTalkng 5-Way Connector or SeaTalkng T-Piece via an appropriate length of SeaTalkng Backbone Cable (blue/black stripe & blue color coded plugs). Should the SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone interfacing the autopilot components to one another already be powered, then the SeaTalkng Power Cable supplied with the SeaTalk to SeaTalkng Converter Kit will should not be installed. |
