While some third party products and applications (ex. Google Earth, etc.) support entry of and specification of waypoint latitude and longitude coordinates in DDD-MM-SS.SS format, Raymarine products exclusively support entry of and specification of waypoint latitude and longitude coordinates in the format DDD-MM.MMM format, where:

DDD - degrees of latitude or longitude
MM - Minutes of latitude or longitude
.MMM is fraction of a minute of latitude or longitude
SS.SS - Seconds of latitude or longitude
.SS is fraction a second of latitude or longitude

To convert seconds of latitude or longitude to a fraction of a minute for use within coordinates DDD-MM.MMM format, use the formula: .MMM = SS.SS / 60.

Example: Convert 42 47' 16.14" N to DDD-MM.MMM format; 16.14" / 60 = .269'; accordingly 42 47' 16.14" N = 42 47.269' N.
