In configuring a new install for a C95 E70012 ( nav station) and a C125 E70013 (helm) with a digital dome Rd418d would it matter which MFD is connected directly (Raynet) to the dome? Should the cable run to the radar dome be as short as possible?

If the dome was connected to the nav station C95 could the radar be controlled ( Off and on ) from the c125 at the helm?

Would the c95 need to be on at all times to access radar from the C125?

A1. As long as both MFDs will be switched ON when using radar, then the radome may be interfaced to the Ethernet Network port (RayNet) of either MFD. To avoid having to chase the Digital Radar Cable up to the helm MFD and should your concept of operation include operating the c125 MFD while the c95 MFD is switched OFF, then you may want to consider installing a HS5 RayNet Network Switch. Each MFD and the Digital Radar Cable would then be connected to the network switch rather than the daisy chain of Radar to MFD to MFD. Should each MFD be networked to the system's SeaTalkng backbone (to which instruments, autopilot, GPS sensor, etc. may be interfaced), then either MFD may be designated as the system's Data Master MFD to provide a level of redundancy within the system.

Q2. If the dome was connected to the nav station C95 could the radar be controlled ( Off and on ) from the c125 at the helm?
A2. Yes.

Q3. Would the c95 need to be on at all times to access radar from the C125?
