Q. Don't I need to use one of those ports to connect to the backbone?
A. Negative. Per my last response, The Axiom Pro S 12 MFD features a pair of Ethernet communications ports and a NMEA 2000 communications port. The MFD's NMEA 2000 port will be used to interface the MFD to the SeaTalkng / NMEA 2000 backbone.
