There's nothing fundamentally incorrect with the diagram as long as you can pass all of those cables through the binnacle tubes and into the pod(s). If the AIS transceiver feature a SeaTalkng or NMEA 2000 communications interface then it would be recommended that it be interfaced as a spur to the backbone rather than to the MFD's NMEA 0183 communications interface. Doing so would eliminate yet another cable to chase through the binnacle tubes.

If the red and black cable which your referenced features a white SeaTalkng spur plug, then it is a SeaTalkng Power Cable and may be used to power the backbone in the manner which your latest diagram indicates.
